FMCSA Announces Random Testing Rate Increase for CDL Drivers
Beginning January 1, 2020, the minimum annual percentage rate for random controlled substances testing, for drivers of commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) requiring a commercial driver's license (CDL), will be 50 percent.
This is an increase from the 2019 rate of 25 percent testing of the average number of driver positions. The alcohol testing rate remains the same at 10 percent of the average number of driver positions.
