FAA Drug Abatement Division Reminder Concerning Random Drug and Alcohol Testing Pools
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Drug Abatement Division recently issued a reminder that only DOT/FAA aviation-covered employees should be included in a DOT random testing pool for aviation employers pursuant to 49 CFR 40.347(b)(2).
Certiphi Screening, as a C/TPA, is required to ensure compliance with 49 CFR § 40.347(b)(2) DOT agency drug and alcohol testing regulatory requirements. Aviation clients will be contacted by their account manager and asked to verify in writing that only the necessary safety sensitive aviation employees are subject to Certiphi's Random Program Management (RPM) administration.
A449, A049, or registration documents give an aviation employer or contractor the authority to conduct federal testing of its employees under 14 CFR part 120. Providing a copy of these documents will enable Certiphi's compliance in our role as a C/TPA RPM administrator.
